The Simpsons Arrives in Psyonix's Hit Game: Unfortunately Not the Car Fans Are Dreaming Of

It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was teaming up with Epic Games' battle royale, but that's not the only destination where fans can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The beloved show is coming over to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, introducing an in-game car skin that will also be usable in the Fortnite universe. However, whether players will truly desire to use it is another question, as fans have their hearts set on just one Simpsons vehicle the community is itching to get behind the wheel of, and this isn't it.

What Fans Really Want

While many players would absolutely enjoy to face off behind the wheel of Homer's custom creation—the famously flawed automobile the patriarch designed himself in the classic episode "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. Not even getting the Canyonero, the enormous truck showcased in the tenth season. Rather, fans will obtain the Simpsons' everyday beat-up sedan, which they've been driving since the show's early days. Even though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it remains an iconic element of the show. For those who pay attention to Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

Additional Themed Cosmetics

And it's not the only cosmetic from the show arriving in Rocket League. This limited-time event will also include a series of objectives to earn additional rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a official announcement, the challenges will task players to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons years on air, collect boost pickups as if your GPS is set to the Simpson residence, and travel a specific distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"

While the complete list of earnable items hasn't been revealed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:

  • Blinky antenna topper
  • Homer's hedge-themed banner
  • Garbage-themed wheels
  • 20,000 XP per challenge

Based on promotional images is any indication, it appears players will also get wheels featuring a TV showing The Simpsons' title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and boost effects themed to burning tires and Krusty's famous restaurant.
